Sporting da Praia book ticket to Taça Município da Praia final

Sporting da Praia are the first of the teams to qualify for the Taça Município da Praia, or Praia Cup. The Lions di Capital did so with a win over second division leaders Desportivo da Praia. The semifinal clash ended 1-1 through goals from Jú (Sporting) and Djeff (Desportivo) and moved onto penalties at the Estádio da Várzea. Sporting would prove to have the edge winning the shootout 4-3.
The Lions will face the winner of the other semifinal game between first division leaders Boavista da Praia and third placed Clube Desportivo Travadores. Starting from 22 total teams, 12 from the first division and 10 from the second, we are nearly down to the final two. The winner of the Taça will go on to compete in the Taça Cabo Verde against the other regional cup winners. That competition was won last season by CS Mindelnse from São Vicente.
