Maio

The Associação Regional do Maio de Futebol (ARMF) was founded in 1990. A team from Maio has gone onto be crowned national champions when Onze Unidos won in 2000/01. Onze Unidos and Académica ‘83 have been the two most dominant regional teams, having won 12 and 9 titles respectively.
When competitions are held they include the Supertaça, a cup competition between the regional league and cup winners; an opening tournament in the fall; the regional league that can include a second division; a regional cup, and a Taça dos Campeões between the winners of the first and second divisions.

Unfortunately, the ARMF canceled the campeonato regional this year with the association claiming that no teams were successfully registered. They are holding a U-17 competition and there have been discussions of holding a cup competition with three senior teams.
